Membership Costs & Fees

Ensuring Fair and Professional Service

Running an association involves various costs, and it is through donations, sponsorships, and member fees that we can offer fair and professional services to our members. Below, we outline the details of the annual membership fees and competition costs.

Annual Membership Fees

Schools or Institutions

Schools or institutions are required to pay an annual membership fee of R1000.

Band Members

Band members have an annual membership fee that varies based on the size of the group. The sliding scale is designed to assist larger groups in managing their costs. The fee structure is as follows:

  • 0-30 Members: R100.00 per annum

  • 31-50 Members: R75.00 per annum

  • 51-70 Members: R50.00 per annum

  • 71-99 Members: R25.00 per annum

  • 100 or More Members: R10.00 per annum

For example, if you have 40 members, you will pay for the first 30 members at R100.00 each and the remaining 10 members at R75.00 each, totaling R3750.00.

Competition Fees

Competitions require an entry fee of R500.00 per category per competition. If a band enters three categories, they must participate in all three categories at the regional level to qualify, resulting in a total fee of 6 * R500.00.

Payment Deadlines

All membership and competition fees are due by the end of June each year. Proof of payment must be sent to finances@sasba.online before the close of business on June 30th each year.

Subsidies

Subsidies are available for members already receiving government subsidies through their schools. To apply for a subsidy, the headmaster must write an official letter to SASBA requesting the subsidy and list the children receiving it. This request should be sent to chairman@sasba.online.

By adhering to these guidelines and timely payments, members help ensure that our association continues to thrive and provide valuable services.

How to help & Sponsor

We are fortunate in South Africa where we have companies and individuals that are able to assist and help with sponsorship. Make a donation towards SASBA or sponsor a single child. Sponsors can discuss how they would like to make donations and how the donations must be used.
